The SGLYSE’s stock is shaped from grey laminated walnut — thin layers of walnut bonded together under heat and pressure into a single, exceptionally stable blank, then sculpted to a classic lever-gun profile. It’s the same process used on some of the toughest working rifle stocks in the world, and for good reason.
Cross-laminating timber makes it far more dimensionally stable than a one-piece stock. It resists the warping, swelling and movement that humidity and temperature swings can cause — so the rifle stays consistent whether you’re walking a dry summer paddock or a wet scrub gully after rain. It’s dense, and it’s genuinely tough. A laminated stock isn’t a step down from solid timber: for a hard-working bush rifle, plenty of shooters consider it a step up.
