DJI Power · Expansion Battery · More Days Off-Grid

The DJI Power Expansion Battery 2000 — double your off-grid days

One battery is never quite enough when the trip runs long. The DJI Power Expansion Battery 2000 is how you fix that — a 2048Wh LiFePO4 add-on pack that plugs straight into your DJI Power station and stacks its capacity, so a weekend’s power becomes a week’s. Same safe chemistry, same DJI ecosystem, more time before you need a wall socket.

Important up front: this is a companion battery, not a standalone power station — it connects to a DJI Power 1000 V2 or DJI Power 2000 to do its job. Gun Bar has it as genuine Australian stock through the C.R. Kennedy distribution network, DJI’s Australian distribution partner, at $1,499 — $320 off RRP.

It’s not a power station — it makes yours a bigger one

No AC outlets of its own. It’s a capacity module for a DJI Power station you already own (or are about to).

The Expansion Battery 2000 holds 2048Wh of LiFePO4 but has no inverter of its own — it plugs into a host DJI Power station via a dedicated cable and adds its capacity to the pool. It’s compatible with the DJI Power 1000, Power 1000 V2 and Power 2000. Pair it with a Power 1000 V2 and you can stack up to five of them for a total of 11,264Wh; pair it with a Power 2000 and you can stack up to ten for a massive 22,528Wh. Paired with a Power 1000 it even lifts continuous output to 2400W. Ports, buttons and the screen sit on the front, the wiring runs down one side, and the flat 23.5-litre body is built to stack — so a bank of them takes up no more floor than one.

The Bottom Line: If you don’t yet own a DJI Power station, buy one of those first — the 1000 V2 at $999 or the Power 2000 at $1,799 — then add this when you want more days between charges.

How Many Days Do You Want?

2048Wh more of everything

One pack roughly doubles a Power 2000, or triples a Power 1000 V2.

Adding one Expansion Battery 2000 takes a Power 2000 from 2048Wh to 4096Wh, or a Power 1000 V2 from 1024Wh to 3072Wh. In the field that’s the difference between a long weekend and a full week off-grid — a camp chest freezer of game meat running for days, a big multi-battery drone day with power to spare, thermals and optics topped up all trip, lights and a CPAP every night. And it recharges fast: with a Power 1000 it takes on 1024Wh in about 36 minutes at up to 1950W, and it charges from mains, solar (up to 1800W) or the car just like the station it’s plugged into.

The Bottom Line: Start with the station that suits you, then add capacity a battery at a time — you only carry (and pay for) the runtime you actually need.

Common Questions

DJI Power Expansion Battery 2000 FAQ

Can I use the Expansion Battery 2000 on its own?

No — it’s a companion battery, not a standalone power station. It has no inverter or AC outlets of its own; it connects to a DJI Power 1000, Power 1000 V2 or Power 2000 via a dedicated cable and adds its 2048Wh to that station’s capacity. If you don’t already own a DJI Power station, you’ll need one to use it.

Which DJI Power stations does it work with?

The DJI Power 1000, Power 1000 V2 and Power 2000. On a Power 1000 or 1000 V2 you can stack up to five (11,264Wh total); on a Power 2000 you can stack up to ten (22,528Wh total).

How much extra runtime does one add?

A full 2048Wh. That roughly doubles a Power 2000 (to 4096Wh) or triples a Power 1000 V2 (to 3072Wh) — in real terms, the jump from a long weekend to a full week off-grid, or a camp freezer running for days instead of one.

Should I buy this or a second power station?

If you just want more runtime from the station you already have, the expansion battery is the cheaper and neater way — it stacks, shares the one inverter and stores flat. Buy a second full station instead only if you need power in two places at once. Not sure? Give the team a call and we’ll talk it through.

How fast does it recharge?

Quickly — it takes on 1024Wh in about 36 minutes at up to 1950W with a Power 1000, and charges from mains, up to 1800W of solar, or your vehicle through DJI’s Super Fast Chargers, just like the station it’s connected to.

Is LiFePO4 safe to store and stack?

Yes. LFP is the safe, non-explosive end of lithium chemistry, rated for 4,000 cycles, and this pack adds an intelligent BMS, a sub-nano protective coating and active heat dissipation designed for safe operation even with several units stacked together.

Is this genuine Australian stock with a warranty?

Yes. Gun Bar supplies it as genuine Australian stock through the C.R. Kennedy distribution network, DJI’s Australian distribution partner, with a local warranty behind it — not a grey import. No firearms licence is required; it’s a consumer electronic that ships Australia-wide.
